Jinkee Pacquiao has become a celebrity in her own right, with people constantly talking about her personal life, her appearance, and even her latest purchases.
Among those who have become a fan of the boxing icon's wife is American socialite and hotel heiress Paris Hilton, who watched the Pacquiao-Mosley fight last May 8.
"So lovely spending time with Manny and his gorgeous wife Jinkee. Such a beautiful couple!" Hilton said in her Twitter account.
Before the fame, however, Jinkee took her appearance for granted.
"Di ako masyadong nag-aayos sa sarili ko o nagme-make up. Lagi na lang nakakulong, iniisip lang 'yung problema," she said in a taped interview on ABS-CBN's "Salamat Dok" aired over the weekend.
After giving birth to her third child, Princess, Jinkee decided to undergo liposuction. She had unwanted fat removed on her arms and abdomen, only to get pregnant again with her youngest daughter, Queen Elizabeth.
This, however, did not cause her to lose hope. With patience, hard work and a little help from cosmetic surgeon Vicky Belo, Jinkee was able to change her beauty from simple to stunning.
"Mahalaga (sa akin ang itsura). Kasi nakikita ka ng lahat ng tao," she said.
THE MAKEOVER
Body
Jinkee said she lost 20 pounds thanks to Smart Lipo, a laser-assisted liposuction procedure from Italy which melts unwanted fat before it is taken out of the body.
It provides a sharp contrast to traditional liposuction, which removes lumps of solid fat.
After Smart Lipo, Jinkee underwent Body Tite, a body remodelling procedure from the United States which assists liposuction and tightens the skin.
She also had "diet injections," which helped her lose another 17 pounds in 21 days.
"(Jinkee) had diet injections kasi kahit nag-lipo (siya) medyo overweight pa rin. She lost 17 pounds in 21 days. Natuto na rin siyang kumain ng tama," Belo said.
"With Jinkee the way she starts eating it's so different na. She always starts with a salad before mag-meat and everything para may laman na ang tiyan niya."
Face
Jinkee's face shape changed from square to oval with Ulthera, a non-invasive procedure from the US which is considered a less painful alternative to Thermage.
It utilizes "high intensity focused ultrasound" to tighten the skin after a 45-minute session.
"Dati kasi more on square yung shape (ng mukha ni Jinkee). The ideal shape of the face is oval so everybody should try to go for that," she said.
"Square kasi is masculine. Kahit ako square noon ang face ko kaya expert na ako diyan."
Ulthera can last for 2 to 3 years, shorter than the surgical facelift which is good for 7 years. Belo said results can be seen as early as 3 months.
Skin
Jinkee's glowing skin, meanwhile, was caused by glutathione, a substance which slows down the production of melanin. Melanin is the protein that gives the skin its brown color.
Belo said she made Jinkee use glutathione soap and lotion regularly, and take in 500 milligrams of glutathione tablets daily.
"The (soap) granules remove dead skin, the lotion para mababad 'yung balat mo (sa whitening) all day and to protect from the sun...At least 500 mg of glutathione a day para after 3 months makita na ang glow. That's what Jinkee did," she said.
"So hindi lang siya maputi, may glow din siya."
Asked how her life has changed since the makeover, Jinkee said, "Siyempre si Manny nai-insecure na nang onti."
"Parang 'pag may nakikita ka na ibang babae na maganda dati, mga nakikilandi sa kanya minsan, sasabihin mo na lang na 'ay hindi sila threat sa akin.' Yes diba?"
